The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced it will debut a Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL) in 2025, expanding professional opportunities for women in lacrosse. The WLL will feature four teams and showcase many top players, with its launch tied to the 2025 PLL Championship Series. This new initiative follows the success of the PLL's "Unleashed" exhibitions, which have already highlighted women's lacrosse talent in Olympic-style Sixes play, building momentum ahead of lacrosse’s return to the Olympics.
The Women's Lacrosse League (WLL) is set to launch in 2025 will initially have four teams. Specific team names and locations have yet to be revealed by the Premier Lacrosse League.
