Tigers Rally in Ninth to Defeat Royals in Rain-Delayed Thriller.

The Detroit Tigers extended their winning streak to six games with a dramatic 10–9 comeback victory over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday in a game marked by multiple rain delays. The decisive moment came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Riley Greene delivered a clutch two-run double to tie the score, followed by Colt Keith’s game-winning single. Detroit initially built a five-run lead but lost control as Kansas City surged ahead. The Royals’ momentum peaked in the seventh inning when Salvador Perez hit a three-run home run, capping a six-run rally that gave Kansas City an 8–6 advantage. Perez finished the game with four RBIs, while Bobby Witt Jr. contributed three hits and scored three runs. Vinnie Pasquantino also added a home run, his first of the season. Despite the setback, the Tigers regained composure late in the game. Trailing 9–7 in the ninth inning, Gleyber Torres opened with a single, and Kevin McGonigle reached base after a walk. With two outs, Greene tied the game with a double to right field. Moments later, Keith secured the win with a single that brought Greene home. Dillon Dingler also played a key role for Detroit, hitting a two-run homer earlier in the game, while Greene finished with three hits overall.

Pitcher Connor Seabold earned the win despite allowing a solo home run to Pasquantino in the ninth inning. The game experienced two rain delays, including a 65-minute delay before the start and another 46-minute interruption in the seventh inning. Nevertheless, the Tigers maintained their momentum and completed the comeback. Looking ahead, the Royals will face the New York Yankees, with Michael Wacha scheduled to start. Meanwhile, the Tigers will begin a series against the Boston Red Sox, with Casey Mize taking the mound.
