INDIANAPOLIS — The Tennessee Titans overcame a 13-point halftime deficit Sunday afternoon, defeating the Indianapolis Colts 26-20 to secure their first victory of the 2026 NFL season. Tennessee (1-5) relied on a strong defensive performance and two critical special teams plays to complete the comeback. The Titans recorded six sacks and forced three turnovers while ending a six-game losing streak against Indianapolis. The Colts (2-4) controlled the opening half, outgaining Tennessee 232-64 in total yards. However, Indianapolis struggled to capitalize on its opportunities, entering halftime with a 13-0 advantage. Tennessee began turning things around early in the third quarter when defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons forced a fumble from Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. The turnover led to a 29-yard field goal by Joey Slye, who later connected from 56 yards to cut into Indianapolis' lead. Special teams provided the biggest momentum shift in the fourth quarter. Chimere Dike delivered a 58-yard punt return that positioned Tennessee for an 8-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cam Ward to rookie receiver Carnell Tate, tying the game at 13. Moments later, James Williams Sr. blocked an Indianapolis punt, allowing Oluwafemi Oladejo to recover the football and return it 14 yards for a touchdown. The play gave Tennessee its first lead at 20-13. Indianapolis responded with a 4-yard touchdown run by Taylor to tie the contest with 5:32 remaining. However, Tennessee regained control after a costly pass interference penalty helped set up Slye's 49-yard field goal with 2:03 left.

Slye added another field goal from 44 yards after the Colts failed to convert on fourth down, securing the six-point victory. Ward completed 11 of 22 passes for 102 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Tony Pollard contributed 76 rushing yards, while Tate finished with six receptions for 70 yards and his first career touchdown catch. For Indianapolis, quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 269 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Taylor rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown, while Keenan Allen recorded eight receptions for 82 yards. The victory provides Tennessee with much-needed momentum following a difficult start to the season. The Titans will look to build on their performance next Sunday when they host the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, Indianapolis will attempt to end its two-game losing streak when it travels to face the Minnesota Vikings.
