Winfield Jr., Pickens Power NFC Comeback in Pro Bowl Flag Football Victory.

SAN FRANCISCO — Defense once again proved its value, even in flag football, as the NFC rallied past the AFC for a 66–52 victory in the NFL’s third Pro Bowl flag football game Tuesday night. Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. delivered the defining moment, intercepting Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow with four minutes remaining. At the time, the AFC was trailing by eight and driving for a potential tying score. Instead, Winfield’s takeaway shifted momentum back to the NFC, which sealed the win with a late touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to CeeDee Lamb with 24 seconds left.

Winfield was named the game’s Defensive Most Valuable Player for his clutch performance. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens earned Offensive MVP honors after finishing with three receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown. Pickens scored the go-ahead touchdown on a pass from Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott with 6:21 remaining in the fourth quarter, completing the NFC’s comeback from a 16-point second-half deficit.

NFC head coach Jerry Rice praised his team’s resilience during the postgame ceremony, noting that the players never lost confidence despite falling behind. Pickens echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the enjoyment of competing alongside elite talent across the conference. Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons, sidelined while recovering from ACL surgery, joined the celebration from a motorized scooter. Pickens joked after the game that the team briefly considered involving Parsons in a short-yardage play, though officials ultimately shut down the idea.

The game featured dramatic swings early on. After the NFC opened with a 14–0 lead, the AFC responded with a dominant 32–0 run that included two safeties, taking a 32–14 advantage midway through the second quarter. Both teams exchanged rapid scores before halftime, keeping the contest tight. Several Pro Bowl newcomers made memorable contributions. Denver Broncos offensive lineman Garett Bolles scored a touchdown reception in his first Pro Bowl appearance, catching a pass from Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco also impressed, throwing touchdown passes to Cincinnati receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. With the victory, the NFC continued its recent dominance in the Pro Bowl Games, using timely defense and late-game execution to outlast the AFC once again.
