Las Vegas, NV — Dana Evans picked the perfect night to have the game of her life. The Las Vegas Aces guard erupted for 21 points as the Aces edged the Phoenix Mercury 89-86 in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. Coming into the series, Evans had never made more than three three-pointers in a playoff game. On Friday night, she broke through with her best postseason performance yet, knocking down shots from all over the floor and providing a major boost to Las Vegas’ offense. Evans also chipped in 3 assists and 2 rebounds in just 26 minutes. Las Vegas stayed composed throughout a competitive matchup, maintaining control even as Phoenix threatened to swing momentum late. The Aces’ balanced attack and clutch execution down the stretch proved to be the difference in securing the series opener.

A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young also made key contributions, combining for critical baskets and defensive stops as Las Vegas held off the Mercury’s late push. With the victory, the Aces move one step closer to another WNBA championship, while the Mercury will look to regroup and respond in Game 2.

Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday, October 5th at 2 p.m., as the Aces aim to protect home court and the Mercury try to even the series.
