TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State outlasted Oklahoma State 74-69 on Wednesday night, as a balanced offensive attack and key second-half performances propelled the Sun Devils to a critical Big 12 victory.

Arizona State (18-6, 7-4 Big 12) relied on Heloisa Carrera, McKinna Brackens, and Gabby Elliott to break open a close game in the second half. Carrera scored 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds, while Elliott added 17 points, four assists, and four rebounds. Brackens contributed 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, including three of four from three-point range, and secured nine rebounds. The Sun Devils shot 45 percent as a team, including 37 percent from beyond the arc, and converted 77 percent of free throws.

Oklahoma State (15-8, 5-6 Big 12) stayed competitive throughout the game, led by Oluchi Okananwa’s 16 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Haleigh Timmer scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Achol Akot added 18 points and nine rebounds. The Cowgirls forced 21 turnovers but struggled with shooting efficiency, converting just 32 percent from the field and 22 percent from three-point range.

The game featured multiple lead changes early, but Arizona State’s depth and execution in the second half proved decisive. The Sun Devils outscored the Cowgirls 25-15 in the fourth quarter, using free throws and defensive stops to maintain control. Key bench contributions, including Last-Tear Poa’s six points and Amaya Williams’ two points, helped Arizona State sustain momentum when starters rested.

Defensively, Arizona State limited Oklahoma State’s three-point attempts and dominated the paint, finishing with a 39-43 rebounding margin that neutralized the Cowgirls’ inside scoring. The Sun Devils also forced nine steals and five blocks, showcasing their ability to convert defensive pressure into transition opportunities.

This victory extends Arizona State’s winning streak to three games and strengthens their position in the Big 12 standings. Oklahoma State will need to improve shooting efficiency and limit turnovers in upcoming matchups to remain competitive in the conference.

Up next, Arizona State visits Texas on Saturday in a key road contest, while Oklahoma State hosts Kansas State on Sunday, aiming to rebound and regain momentum.
