Simone Biles, the gymnast, has secured her spot in the Olympics, and her spouse, Jonathan Owens, will have the opportunity to witness her performance on the grandest platform. Biles earned her place in the Paris games after triumphing at the U.S. Olympic Trials this past Sunday. In an interview with USA TODAY's Nancy Armour, the renowned gymnast revealed that the Chicago Bears have allowed Owens to take time off from training camp in order to be present at the Olympics.

Biles mentioned that the Bears have approved a brief break from training camp for him, so he will indeed be present for a short period. Biles and Owens have been in a relationship since 2020, tying the knot last year and currently constructing a residence in the outskirts of Houston. This will be the initial Olympics that Owens can physically participate in, as stringent COVID-19 protocols in Tokyo during the 2021 Games hindered his attendance.

Owens signed a two-year deal with the Bears during the offseason following a year with the Green Bay Packers. The 28-year-old had spent four seasons playing for the Houston Texans. Veterans of the Bears are scheduled to arrive for training camp on July 19. Chicago will be facing the Texans in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. The U.S. women's gymnastics team will compete in the qualifying round on July 28, with the team final taking place on July 30. The women's all-around final, where Biles is anticipated to be one of the top contenders, is set for Aug. 1.

"Anytime we can show up for one another in support, we just get super excited because our schedules don't align that much," Biles said. "So whenever it does, it's really important for the both of us to show up in support."
