Brown Scores 41 as Celtics Rout Hawks 132-106.


ATLANTA — Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics with 41 points, while Sam Hauser spearheaded a 3-point onslaught in the second quarter, helping Boston dominate the Atlanta Hawks 132-106 on Saturday night. The Celtics broke the game open with a 52-point second quarter, turning a close opening period into an 82-51 lead at halftime. Boston shot an impressive 19 of 25 overall in the quarter, including 11 of 15 from beyond the 3-point line. Hauser was flawless, hitting all six of his long-range attempts in the period, while Brown excelled both inside and outside. In the final seconds of the half, Brown drove to the basket and flexed for the State Farm Arena crowd, signaling his dominance over the Hawks. By halftime, Brown had 29 points, and Hauser added 21, nearly matching Atlanta’s total scoring. The Celtics reached 100 points before the middle of the third quarter and eventually expanded their lead to 43 points, prompting both teams to clear their benches. Hauser finished with a season-high 30 points, tying his career best with 10 3-pointers. Anfernee Simons contributed 14 points, connecting on half of his attempts from deep. The Hawks, who had just traded star guard Trae Young to the Wizards, lost their third consecutive game following a West Coast road trip. Onyeka Okongwu led Atlanta with 21 points, but the team shot just 37 percent (38 of 102) from the field.
