Cameron Boozer delivered a commanding performance in the paint as fifth-ranked Duke defeated Wake Forest 90–69 on Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The freshman forward finished with 32 points, leading a Blue Devils attack that consistently overwhelmed the Demon Deacons near the basket. Boozer converted 11 of his 20 shot attempts while also collecting nine rebounds and handing out four assists. His ability to score through contact and pass effectively out of double teams allowed Duke to control long stretches of the game. Behind his presence, the Blue Devils outscored Wake Forest 48–16 in points in the paint and held a significant edge on the boards, outrebounding their opponent by 21. Duke also capitalized on second-chance opportunities, finishing with an 18–7 advantage in that category. The performance marked Boozer’s fourth game this season with at least 30 points. Duke shot 50 percent from the field overall, continuing its strong play following a successful West Coast trip that included decisive victories at California and Stanford. Patrick Ngongba II added 13 points and seven rebounds for Duke, which improved to 18–1 overall and 7–0 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Wake Forest was led by Juke Harris, who scored 23 points, including 20 after halftime. Despite making 14 three-point shots, the Demon Deacons struggled to keep pace once Duke seized momentum with a 13–0 run late in the first half.
Wake Forest briefly controlled the early portion of the game, leading for more than 13 minutes, but never closed within fewer than nine points during the second half.
The loss marked the Demon Deacons’ 27th consecutive defeat at Cameron Indoor Stadium, a streak that dates back to their last win there in 1997 during Tim Duncan’s senior season.
The game was moved to a noon tipoff due to concerns over an approaching winter storm. Wake Forest will travel to Pittsburgh for its next game, while Duke is set to host No. 23 Louisville.
