Chicago Sky forward Rickea Jackson will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in her left knee, the team confirmed Tuesday. Jackson sustained the injury during Sunday’s 86–79 win over the Minnesota Lynx. An MRI later revealed the severity of the damage, and she is expected to undergo surgery on a date yet to be determined. Chicago general manager Jeff Pagliocca expressed disappointment over the setback while emphasizing confidence in Jackson’s recovery and long-term outlook. He noted that the forward had been performing at an elite level early in the season, describing her production as All-Star caliber and a key part of the team’s two-way identity. Jackson, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft out of Tennessee, was acquired by Chicago in an offseason trade after two seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks. She had quickly emerged as the Sky’s leading scorer this year, averaging 22 points per game before the injury halted her breakout campaign. Her absence adds to a growing injury list for Chicago. The team is already without Azura Stevens (knee), DiJonai Carrington (foot), and Courtney Vandersloot (knee), all sidelined since the start of the season. Guard Skylar Diggins also missed Sunday’s game due to an eye injury, though the coaching staff has indicated she is expected to return soon. With one of their primary offensive engines now out for the year, the Sky face an uphill battle to maintain momentum as they adjust their rotation and scoring responsibilities for the remainder of the season.
