The Denver Broncos have officially signed rookie running back Jonah Coleman to a four-year contract after selecting him with the 108th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. According to multiple reports, Coleman’s rookie deal is worth approximately $5.636 million and includes a $1.256 million signing bonus. His 2026 cap hit is expected to come in around $1.199 million. The former Washington Huskies standout enters Denver as a physical, downhill runner who is expected to strengthen the Broncos’ rushing attack and add valuable depth to the backfield. At 5-foot-8 and over 220 pounds, Coleman brings a powerful running style that fits well in short-yardage and goal-line situations while also offering versatility as a pass blocker and receiver. Coleman joins a revamped running back room featuring veteran J.K. Dobbins and 2025 second-round pick RJ Harvey. Denver emphasized improving its rushing depth this offseason after injuries impacted the team’s ground game late last year. NFL Draft analyst Dane Brugler ranked Coleman among the top running backs in the 2026 class, praising his toughness, vision, and effectiveness between the tackles. While Coleman may not possess elite breakaway speed, evaluators believe his instincts, balance, and physicality make him a reliable three-down option. The Broncos also value Coleman’s ability in pass protection, an area that could help him carve out an immediate role on third downs. His physical style and consistent yardage production give Denver another dependable option in the rotation heading into the 2026 season. With Coleman now officially under contract, the Broncos continue building a deeper and more balanced offense as they prepare for training camp.
