Denver Summit FC defeated Orlando Pride 3–1 in a decisive home victory at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, extending their winning streak and improving their position in the standings.

The match began with Denver asserting early control, both in possession and tempo. The home side finished with 23 total shots compared to Orlando’s 9, while also maintaining 56% possession throughout the contest. Denver opened the scoring in the 11th minute when a precise cross from Yazmeen Ryan found Eva Gaetino, who finished confidently to give the hosts a 1–0 lead. The early goal set the tone for a dominant first-half performance.

The Summit doubled their advantage in the 54th minute after sustained pressure in the attacking third resulted in a penalty. Janine Sonis converted from the spot, continuing her strong scoring form. Orlando responded in the 76th minute when Barbra Banda capitalized on a rare opening to bring the score to 2–1. However, Denver immediately restored control just one minute later, as Sonis scored her second goal of the match to secure a 3–1 lead.

A turning point occurred in the 63rd minute when Orlando were reduced to 10 players following a red card, which further tilted the match in Denver’s favor. Denver’s overall performance reflected strong tactical discipline, effective pressing, and efficient finishing in key moments. The result marks consecutive wins for the team and a notable shift in the standings, with Denver moving ahead of Orlando following the victory. The team now prepares for their next fixture against the Utah Royals on May 23 at 4:30 PM.
