Oilers’ Leon Draisaitl Scores 1,000th Point.

Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl reached a major career milestone on Tuesday, recording his 1,000th point in the NHL. This achievement makes him the first German-born player and the fifth-fastest international player to reach 1,000 points. Draisaitl assisted on Zach Hyman’s power-play goal in the first period and added another assist on Connor McDavid’s goal just 14 seconds later during the Oilers’ 6-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena. In total, he recorded four assists in the game. Over his last seven games, Draisaitl has accumulated 16 points, including his 1,000th through 1,003rd points. His streak included a three-point game against the Toronto Maple Leafs the previous Saturday, where he narrowly missed the milestone on a late two-on-one rush with McDavid in a 6-3 win.

Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch commented on the moment, saying, “The bench was very excited. It would have been almost identical to the 1,000th point for Connor.”
