Rams Target Week 4 Return for Puka Nacua.

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for wide receiver Puka Nacua to return in Week 4 after he was ruled doubtful for Sunday night’s matchup against the Denver Broncos because of a groin issue. Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday that Nacua will not practice and is not expected to play against Denver. Nacua has been sidelined since Sept. 17 and was later added to the injury report with a hip injury. He missed the Rams’ Monday night victory over the New York Giants. The Rams are expecting Nacua to be available when they travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles in Week 4, provided he does not experience a setback. McVay said the team is not considering placing Nacua on injured reserve, which would require him to miss a minimum of four games. The Rams have instead taken a cautious approach with the wide receiver as he works through the injury. McVay previously described the issue as soreness in Nacua’s groin and said it is not connected to the psoas injury that caused him to miss time during August. For now, the Rams will move forward without one of their key offensive weapons against Denver while keeping their focus on getting Nacua back for the following week.
