Indianapolis — Scottie Barnes delivered a complete performance and Toronto set the tone early Wednesday night, pulling away from the Indiana Pacers for a 115 to 101 victory that underscored the Raptors growing cohesion in the Eastern Conference race.
Barnes finished with 26 points and 13 assists, controlling pace and consistently creating advantages as Toronto never trailed. RJ Barrett added timely scoring on the wing, while Gradey Dick provided a major boost off the bench with 21 points and 11 rebounds, marking his most impactful two way outing of the season.
Toronto opened with a decisive first quarter, shooting 16 of 22 from the field to build a 39 to 18 lead. Barnes scored or assisted on 18 of those points as the Raptors repeatedly punished Indiana in transition and early offense. The Pacers struggled to find rhythm, hitting just 6 of 18 shots in the opening period.
Indiana made its push late in the fourth quarter, trimming the deficit to 103 to 99 with 4 minutes and 17 seconds remaining. Toronto answered immediately with back to back three point makes to reestablish control and close the game with disciplined execution on both ends.
Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 26 points and 10 rebounds in his second season with Indiana, continuing a strong stretch of play since returning from a recent minutes restriction earlier in the month. Despite his production, Indiana was unable to overcome Toronto’s early deficit and struggled to generate consistent perimeter looks down the stretch.
From a season impact standpoint, the win reflects Toronto’s improving offensive balance and Barnes expanding role as a primary initiator. With Dick emerging as a reliable scoring option off the bench and Barrett providing stability on the wing, the Raptors are showing signs of lineup continuity after months of roster transition.
For Indiana, the loss highlights ongoing defensive concerns, particularly against teams that push tempo early. The Pacers remain competitive in the standings but will need sharper starts as their schedule tightens.
Toronto returns home Friday to host the Los Angeles Clippers, a matchup that will further test the Raptors defensive growth against elite wing scorers.
Indiana stays home to face New Orleans on Friday, with a focus on tightening rotations and improving first quarter efficiency.
