On April 25, 2026, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado, San Diego Wave FC defeated Denver Summit FC 3–2 after overcoming a two-goal deficit, handing the Summit their first home loss in club history. Denver Summit FC started strongly in front of their home supporters, controlling possession early and establishing momentum. Their breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Melissa Kössler finished a flowing attacking move set up by Yazmeen Ryan. The hosts doubled their lead in the 32nd minute, with Natasha Flint scoring from a well-placed assist by Kössler to make it 2–0. San Diego Wave FC responded after halftime with increased intensity and possession. In the 49th minute, Lia Godfrey scored to cut the deficit to 2–1. Momentum continued to shift as Denver accumulated disciplinary issues, with Ayo Oke and Kaleigh Kurtz receiving yellow cards during a tense spell. The equalizer arrived in the 57th minute when Kennedy Wesley headed in from a corner kick. San Diego completed the comeback in the 65th minute after a strike from Dudinha deflected off Carson Pickett for an own goal, giving the visitors a 3–2 lead.
Denver made multiple substitutions in the 72nd minute, bringing on Olivia Thomas, Eva Gaetino, and Emma Regan in an attempt to regain control. Yuzuki Yamamoto also entered in the 85th minute as the Summit pushed for a late equalizer. Despite sustained pressure and five minutes of added time, San Diego’s defense held firm.
