Aliyah Boston Signs Historic $6.3 Million Extension with Indiana Fever.

Three-time WNBA All-Star Aliyah Boston has agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $6.3 million with the Indiana Fever, making it the highest total salary in league history so far. The deal was confirmed to ESPN by her agent, Zack Miller. Boston qualified for this increased salary under a new rule in the WNBA’s recently approved collective bargaining agreement. Because of her prior All-WNBA selection, she was able to restructure her earnings and accelerate her path to a maximum-level salary. Indiana Fever general manager Amber Cox praised Boston, noting that even in just her fourth season, she has already established herself as one of the league’s top players and a key piece of the franchise since being drafted first overall in 2023. Cox added that the organization is eager to secure Boston as a long-term cornerstone. In 2026, Boston will earn $1 million, slightly below the maximum salary she could have received. She chose this lower figure to give the team more financial flexibility. From 2027 through 2029, she will earn 20% of the team’s salary cap each season. Boston expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying she is excited to continue her career with the Fever and contribute to the team’s future success. Since entering the league, Boston has averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 54.7% from the field.

Indiana has built its roster around Boston, alongside 2024 top draft pick Caitlin Clark and guard Kelsey Mitchell, who recently signed a one-year supermax deal to remain with the team. Boston is coming off a standout season, finishing tied for sixth in MVP voting and earning both All-Defensive and All-WNBA Second Team honors. Despite injuries across the roster, the Fever made an unexpected run to the 2025 semifinals before losing to the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces.
