ANAHEIM, Calif. — Macklin Celebrini recorded a goal and two assists to reach 60 points on the season, leading the San Jose Sharks to a 5–4 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night. Celebrini became the third NHL player to hit the 60-point mark this season and did so in just 39 games, the fastest by a teenager before New Year’s Day in league history. The performance marked his seventh multipoint game in December and extended his point streak to eight games. Mario Ferraro, Igor Chernyshov, William Eklund, and Zach Ostapchuk also scored for San Jose. Despite being outshot 43–13, the Sharks earned their second win since the holiday break. Goaltender Yaroslav Askarov stopped 38 shots. Troy Terry scored twice for Anaheim, while Cutter Gauthier netted his 19th goal of the season and Pavel Mintyukov added another. The Ducks have now lost three straight games and seven of their last nine, dropping out of first place in the Pacific Division. Lukas Dostal surrendered four goals on nine shots before being replaced by Petr Mrazek in the second period. Celebrini briefly left the game in the third period after being struck in the face by a deflected puck but returned minutes later.

Alexander Wennberg assisted on San Jose’s first two goals. Anaheim capitalized on a rare mistake by Askarov when he mishandled the puck behind the net, allowing Nikita Nesterenko to set up an open Terry. Celebrini scored his 21st goal late in the first period and assisted on Chernyshov’s second career goal in the second. Eklund’s 10th goal of the season chased Dostal from the game. Gauthier scored late in the second period and assisted on Mintyukov’s goal early in the third. Ostapchuk extended the Sharks’ lead to 5–3 with just over six minutes remaining, though Terry scored again shortly after with Mrazek pulled for an extra attacker.

San Jose will host Minnesota on Wednesday, while Anaheim is set to host Tampa Bay the same night.
