St. Louis — Logan Mailloux scored the decisive goal with 2:57 remaining, and Robert Thomas recorded a hat trick to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 5–3 victory over the Utah Mammoth in the regular-season finale for both teams on Thursday night in Salt Lake City. Mailloux broke a 3–3 tie with an unassisted backhand shot from roughly 20 feet out, giving St. Louis the lead late in a tightly contested game. Thomas sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute, completing his third goal of the night. Pavel Buchnevich also scored for the Blues, while goaltender Joel Hofer stopped 20 shots. For Utah, Michael Carcone, Lawson Crouse, and Kailer Yamamoto each found the net. Karel Vejmelka and Vitek Vanecek combined for 24 saves in goal. Clayton Keller contributed two assists, extending his streak to 10 consecutive games with at least one assist, making him one of only three NHL players this season to reach that mark. St. Louis opened the scoring early in the first period through Buchnevich, but Utah answered quickly and later took the lead in the second period. Thomas responded with two goals in the middle frame to swing momentum back to the Blues, before Utah briefly equalized again late in the period. With the result, the Blues closed their regular season, while the Mammoth now turn their attention to a first-round playoff matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights.
