LAS VEGAS — Steven Stamkos reached a major milestone in his career, scoring his 600th goal as the Nashville Predators defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 . The Predators, who are in the midst of a seven-game road trip, improved to 18-17-4 with the victory, moving above a .500 record for the first time since October 16. This win marked Nashville’s 12th in 17 games and their third in the first four contests of the road trip. Conversely, Vegas struggled, dropping six of their last seven games and finishing their four-game homestand with a 1-2-1 record. Stamkos, in his 18th NHL season, scored his 18th goal of the year and his ninth against the Golden Knights since the team joined the league in 2017. His goal tied the game during a five-minute, three-goal surge that turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead for Nashville. Teammates Nick Perbix, Reid Schaefer, and Michael Bunting also scored, while goalie Justus Annunen recorded 29 saves.
Former Golden Knight Erik Haula, nearing his 800th NHL game, earned his 200th career assist on Bunting’s goal. For Vegas, Mark Stone and Ben Hutton scored, with Akira Schmid stopping 15 shots before being pulled for an extra attacker late in the third period. Stone, along with teammates Mitch Marner and Shea Theodore, was recently named to Canada’s Olympic roster for the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off.
Looking ahead, Nashville will visit Seattle on Thursday, while Vegas travels to St. Louis on Friday.
